Win-a-lands-end-backpack-for-back-to-school

I'm promoting yet another give-away in hopes of randomly being chosen to win, because I have won something in the past this way! I highly recommend it!! I would like to win this awesome backpack for my daughter to use not only for school, but for taking on trips!

Large Stuffed Animals!

I found a give-away for 3 large stuffed dogs from 5 minutes for mom ! I'm linking back to there and to the place the animals are from. I would like to have the dogs to give to my kids for their birthdays since we can't have real dogs. My husband doesn't want any real ones, but the kids and I love them! We have had several dogs and I could tell so many stories of them all. Each one gradually disappeared or had to be relocated. So I think it would be nice for the kids to have their own to cuddle and love. I should scan and upload old photos of our old dogs to Flickr and link to that! I miss having a good dog...

Randomness: Other blogs, Giveaways, etc.

I have been reading various blogs, entering for give-aways and clicking random links of interest. I'm thinking of updating here what ones currently interest me, for the sake of helping anyone else who might be interested in similar things. Most people’s passions make them feel good about themselves. If you’re good at painting, for example, then it’s likely that you receive lots of social validation from others regarding your painting. Your job might suck, but at least you feel fulfilled as a painter. So what happens if you try to become a professional painter and fail at that? What happens if you have to make more paintings just to make ends meet and the quality of your paintings suffer? What happens if you fail as a professional artist? If you fail at job-ifying your passion then it’s likely that you’ve lost a large (in some cases, the largest) source of your self-esteem. And most people don’t want to risk that. If you try and fail at job-ifying your passion, then one of the greatest sources of your energy and self worth may start makin...

Tread Lightly

This stood out to me, " Luxury is confident yet understated, in contrast to glamour, which is hungry and loud." I think that is my new goal in life, to epitomize that saying by how I behave and appear to others, by my overall choices and styles, my attitudes and outlooks. Less is the new black or slimming down is the new me.
