Thoughts while waiting...

I see people who remind me of people I knew, People I loved and were close to. I see people I know that I'm not close to and who barely know me. I should be used to losing those I love. It shouldn't hurt anymore. It should be easy to make new friends and replace those I lost. But are we just someone's extra lost sock to replace with a new pair? We are people with feelings and it hurts to love and then lose. But it's better than to have never loved at all! So I will continue loving and not be afraid of possibly losing again. I will also appreciate those who love me!

Answers to Burning Questions

"To find answers to these burning questions: Why were we born? Why do we die? And why do we spend so much time in between wearing digital watches?" - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams Why were we born? Our parents either planned us or we were accidents! I mean doh you put two members of a species together and if they're opposite sexes and they do 'stuffs' together they tend to reproduce, and if you're lucky they're actually born and grow up and the reproduction continues through countless generations. You get my drift? Common sense! (Knucklehead's ask such 'tarded questions!) Why do we die? Imagine if no one ever died yet humanity continued reproducing, now wouldn't that be a pickle for this ol' globe...we would have to have skyscrapers on top of skyscrapers and roads in the air and live underground and be like the freakin' Jetsons! And why do we spend so much time in between wearing digital watches? I dunno about yo...

Drunk at Your Door

A man is in bed with his wife when there is a knock on the door. He rolls over and looks at his clock -- it's half-past three in the morning. "I'm not getting out of bed at this time", he thinks, and rolls over. Then, a louder knock follows. "Aren't you going to answer that?" says his wife. So, he drags himself out of bed and goes downstairs. He opens the door and there is man standing at the door. It didn't take the homeowner long to realize the man was drunk. "Hi there," slurs the stranger, "Can you give me a push?" "No. Get lost, it's half-past three. I was in bed," says the man and slams the door. He goes back up to bed and tells his wife what happened and she says "Dave, that wasn't very nice of you. Remember that night we broke down in the pouring rain on the way to pick the kids up from the baby-sitter and you had to knock on that man's door to get us started again? What would have happened if h...

Beauty and Wisdom

Beauty is the phenomenon of the experience of pleasure, through the perception of balance and proportion of stimulus. It involves the cognition of a balanced form and structure that elicits attraction and appeal towards a person, animal, inanimate object, scene, music, idea, etc. - Wikipedia "Wise men learn more from fools, than fools from the wise." - Fortune Cookie by gadgetate

The Purina Diet

Oh . . . This has got to put a smile on!!! (Disclaimer: I didn't actually do this but it sounds like fun!) I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for My Dogs and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog........ Duh! I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse, I told her no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms. Her eyes about bugged out of her head. I went on and on with the bogus diet story and she was totally believing it. I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet and that the way it works is to load your pockets or purse with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The package said the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. I have to mention here tha...

Farm Fugitives (a joke)

A Welshman, an Englishman and a Irishman were being chased by Farmer Giles with a shotgun. After 10 minutes of running they spotted a barn and ran inside. Once inside they each hid in an old sack against the barn wall. The farmer went into the barn but did not see where they went. He was about to turn back when he saw three suspicious looking sacks. He walked forward and prodded the first sack with his gun. The Englishman inside said... ''Meow'.' "Just cats," he thought. He then prodded the second sack. The Welshman, hearing how the Englishman got off said... ''Woof'.' "Just dogs," he thought. As he walked towards the last sack, the Irishman worked out what he was going to say. As soon as the farmer prodded his sack he said... ''Potatoes!''

Friday was an excellant day!!

I got one of two postcards done for Semper and sent then talked with them and will touch base on monday. Then went with family to a picnic supper at a nice park and watched canadian geese on a lake. It was extremely nice weather out, breezy and cool so it was great just to get out, we had deli fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and soda, took a bday cake but were too full to have any! It was pleasant eating outdoors and listening to the silly geese. We almost went to a county fair but instead of it being free like it used to be they charged admission so we said forget it and came home, saw lots of deer on the way back. I took my new camera with and got a few shots of the geese at the park. The deer were too far away and too fast to get good snaps though. My new Canon Powershot A560 that I got for my birthday works great, it even takes small vids. I called and talked with my twin for awhile and remembered something that happened yesterday at a restaurant - a unique...

Life cycle

Life cycle 1st period: 19-7 to 8-9 - opportunity and aquisition. This is the period of opportunity. It is the best time to advance your interests with others who may have the power and influence to help you. This is the time to ask favours, seek employment or loans or business concessions, to form partnerships or make investments. (Quoted from Rosecrutian stuff)

My rant for the day or week or whatever!

I stumbled across news that a woman was arrested on suspicion of kissing a $2 million dollar museum painting and smearing lipstick on a white canvas so I had to see what the originals looked like. The paintings look so random that I can't help thinking she was merely helping the artist make the mess more interesting. Maybe they were offended by a touch of realism on an abstract hodge podge! I have to ask why they weren't encased in nonglare glass anyway and are they really worth that much? What I saw by this artist looks like things a preschooler could easily do or for that matter someone with no artistic talent! How in the world did his crap get in a museum and why would anyone think it's worth so much? Perhaps I should merely slap paint on huge canvasses and allow it to drip then call it art and submit it to galleries or museums instead of working on perfecting things and remaining a poor unknown artist, you think? Kitteh gots a new home!

Image
The kitten that was the friendliest got a new home this weekend when Heather and Cody visited and looked at all of them. They chose the one that was easily a favorite to us, the one I was calling Amaretto, but they will give him a new name. I know they'll take excellant care of him because they already bought all sorts of things for him and plan to take him to the vet soon. Hooded litter box, litter, liners, scratching post, canned food, dry kitten food, brush, probably toys. I know he'll get lots of attention too! I'll miss him begging to be picked up but we'll go visit sometime and take pictures for posting here.

Latest news on the pony I sold!

I've been wondering how the pony is doing since I sold her and was surprised to get an email awhile ago from the woman who bought her! (Here it is with location and her daughter's name removed.) "We took her on a trail ride two days after we brought her home. She did a good job. Then on the 4th of July we took her to.....a parade and horse show. She did a good job in the parade, only got scared a bit when a train went through town a block away from her. Then in the horse show she did the obstacle class, pleasure class, poles, barrels and keyhole class for H... and leadline with our 3 year old son on her - but it ended up starting to storm so we had to cut the day short. We really appreciate the chance to own her, thank you. We will send pictures as soon as possible." The poor animal was bored to death at my place and would escape to hang out with my sister's horses every chance she got. I knew she is smart and teachable with potential to be trained for almost any...

Kitten pictures finally!

Image
I finally found my round tuit and resized some recent pictures of the kittens! In the upper left, peeking to see who's above her is Blue Moon. In the left forground listening to whatever on earth I'm doing is female Marble. The elegant guy on the right is Caramel. (The names might be temporary until we come up with something better. It beats calling them by their descriptions all the time.) The friendliest and most playful kitten of the litter is Amaretto! He picked up his daddy Schoedy's traits of wanting constant attention and reaching to be picked up like a child! He's a lovable fluffball with long soft angora fur and he looks at whoever holds him or talks to him as if they're his favorite thing in his world , purring loudly nonstop when held ! The other day as I sat down near them and leaned over to pet another kitten, Ama walked across me and rested on me (purring loudly) as if I were his furniture! If we're petting other kittens instead of him, h e licks ...

Pony sold quickly!

Just a day after I placed ads in 2 horse/pony sale places I got several responses from the one in Equine Now! A woman and her 2 daughters made a 2 hour drive down to see her and were so pleased with her behavior and appearance that they decided to buy her and I got a check for her along with her gear. She road off in a blue horse trailer with a net of hay hanging in front of her. The girls are experienced with horses and the mom was very knowledgable about her confirmation, what she needed, what condition the gear was in, etc. She had been raised on a place that had 20 head of the same type pony so she knew what to look for. The pony went to a place that has 3 other horses in an organized 5 acres so she'll be ridden daily and trained for trail riding, probably for halter showing too. She's the perfect size for the 12 yr. old girl and didn't give either of them any trouble. I felt like I had done prep work for her to go to them because it seemed like a perfect match! I think...

A very good way to catch mice!!

Living out in the country where your map looks like a patchwork quilt has its perks like being able to watch sunrises and sunsets. You can actually see the stars and constellations at night and traffic is reduced to distant semi's, occasional 4 wheelers or random aircraft. One of the downsides is frequent unavoidable infestations of various rodents and insects. Numerous mice have been known to find their way into any open bags - be sure you close the chip bags and put them away! The animal feed bags are a favorite place for them to get in but they're unable to jump out. SO yesterday I realized the perfect plan would involve my cats/kittens assistance... I dragged a large open bag of cat food onto the porch and slowly lowered the top of it so the cats could see what was in it. One cat jumped into the bag and caught a mouse that was trying to hide! As she tried to bring it out it got away from her but a kitten ran in and grabbed it. This funny little kitten sat on a porch step w...

A Frogging Story

Image
My dad told me this story a few years ago. He used to go frogging alot when I was a kid and my family lived in Oklahoma for about a year. He would wear waders and use a large net, often bringing home alot of frogs for frying up the legs. One night he decided to take a large flashlight with him so he could see better. He saw the water swirling and moving so he looked closer and found out what was moving the lake water so much. He decided right then and there never to go frogging again because he saw that all this time he had been in the midst of a lake full of Black Moccasin snakes!
Pony is still with the horses *rolls eyes* I didnt get time for looking at Photoshop lessons today but I'm not worried about it. Didn't get the phone call today, perhaps tomorrow. *shrugs* The kids ran over and fed the animals while I made lasagna which was a big help! I only have so much energy and time for a day so I'll accomplish what I can and not worry about the rest. Going to eat some hot lasagna and enjoy the rest of the day!

It promises to be a busy day...

Had to fix a makeshift barricade and tried to get the brat escapee pony back in my yard before it gets hot (she's been hanging with my sister's horses for a week). I couldn't get to her with 5 horses up in my face wanting the grain I took to bribe her with! I used to enjoy working with her, training and brushing her but she's been such a pain wanting to be with the other horses and stealing their feed. It's a wonder my sister doesn't hate me for all the trouble! To top it off, problems with the high-tension wire fence and a huge corner post that rotted at the bottom and keeled over. I'd like to sell her to the highest bidder, so make me an offer! - Photoshop lessons to catch up with because the last one was posted today (Taking free online intermediate classes through HP; i've printed them) - Expecting a phone call for an interview today about the inworld career fair so i need to reread about it to refresh my memory (Someone from Verizon called yesterday...

Update on Inworld Career Interviews and Live Radio Broadcast! post on SL Blog

There are comments along with the names of companies for the buildings which were represented at the recent Inworld Career Fair, thereby updating my recent post in my SL Blog titled, " Inworld Career Interviews and Live Radio Broadcast! " I made a new header and changed the template to one that I really like, besides writing alot of descriptions for the pictures of the career fair.

Kittens Returned

At the beginning of this week I made the mistake of setting a bag of trash out on the porch with the intention of carrying it to the burn pile and then forgot about it. (I had been doing alot of cleaning and wanted to get the bag out of the way. Since I live in the country I have my cans and bottles picked up but burn the paper in a bin out in the back yard.) The next morning I found a surprise from a racoon - bag torn open at the bottom and trash all over the porch. It took a few minutes to clean and burn but I noticed no kittens or momma cat at their usual feeding station or anywhere around the house. Two more quiet sad days went by before I saw them again. All of a sudden when I opened the door yesterday morning they came scampering towards me instead of running away and looking scared. Now they act happy to see me and recognize me as the food and milk lady instead of the monstrous giant that pops out of the huge noisy door hole in the building! Most of them let me pet and even pick...

Humbling Contemplations

It occurred to me that many things I used to do now seem rather silly to me. Take for example my old puter desktop, Microsoft Picture It!, Yahoo chat and then my old obsession with Cybertown. I would spend countless hours thinking how wonderful they were and tell anyone who dared to listen. Now I obsess over Photoshop, Dogwaffle, Second Life, blogs. I forsee that Some Day they will all seem silly to me. As I was mentioning this to the person sitting next to me on a different computer I got the typical reaction of someone engrossed in their own world, similar to someone reading a newspaper or watching a football game! Makes ya wonder if all of this is the epitome of silliness...

Pictures of Cool Avatars

I uploaded pictures of cool avatars that I saw recently in Second Life, so head over to the link on the right called "My Second Life blog and pictures"!

New Post in Second Life Blog

~Civilized Dining OR Eyeball Soup and Jinxed Spoons~ Dining adventures in SL aren't boring to say the least!

2 New Links Added

Since my recent update I've added two new links - The first one is for viewing 8 items that I linked to and uploaded into a marketplace for Second Life called SL Exchange . Many people shop there and I already had an account set up there, so it was inevitable or predestined and something I had planned on for quite some time! The second is from an account in Art Zone from Daz community . I've had it for quite some time and kinda forgot, so perhaps this will help me to remember to update it more often. :) I realize that I have other random accounts which are unaccounted in here yet, but I'll eventually round them all up and see what kinda smorgy I can present you!

Announcing Recent Updates

I have recently updated the following: 1) my Myspace page - gave it a cooler background, changed the pictures and narrowed down the friends (and of course family) to only the ones I really know and communicate with! 2) uploaded pictures of my 3D gallery which is in Second Life 3) added a new blog link from a relative - "Another fairly incomplete and rather badly illustrated blog by some white guy in Asia" ( Rick's Blog)

New Links

Wow that was fun finding all the links and updating the section here! Have a look and let me know what you think...

First Day

This will be my central spot for linking my SL blog, My Space, My Original Artwork site, My Deviant Art, any friends' links, and anything else I find interesting enough. (If you wish to have your site linked to mine, be sure to let me know.) I had originally planned on using a new homepage for all that, but am still figuring out what I want it to look like. I haven't found a template that I'm crazy about or a design that I wish to emulate yet. When either of those happen or I get an overwhelming inspiration, I'll take it from there! ...On second thought, I'll keep this as the link central and redo my art site independant of it! I'm recovering from various digestive maladies, but will still take time to update this often and continue adding links.
